Breastfeeding is everywhere! I’m a strong supporter of it and I’m happy to see so much breastfeeding support out there – from lactation consultants, support groups and forums, and endless reading material on how to get your newborn to “latch on.” Ok. I got it! … Fast forward one-and-a-half years later: How do you get them to “latch OFF?!”
Zavier is definitely a boob man. He loves to eat regular food, so it’s not for nutritional value anymore. Now it’s just for comfort value – anytime he is tired, anytime he is upset, or pretty much anytime I’m sitting down next to him, he fusses and pulls at my shirt in order to get his fix. If I don’t give in or try to offer him a sippy cup of cow’s milk, he goes into a full-blown tantrum and he ends up getting his way 7 times out of 10. We’ve made progress during the night hours, when the only way he used to fall asleep was when he was drinking my milk and he’d literally be attached all night while he slept. Jeff is now in charge of putting Zavier to bed (no man boobs), so I’m now free during the evening hours.

I tried doing research on this matter and didn’t find much help. Most of the time they say the child loses interest on their own and stops breastfeeding. I don’t think he’ll be losing interest anytime soon at the rate he is going. I’m going to be like this cover of Time magazine. Instead of this mom and her 3-year-old standing on a chair, it’ll be me and a Zavier and he’ll be so big he won’t need a chair and he might even be growing a mustache already. I just want my boobs back! Any suggestions?

Arielle is finally pooping in the toilet (thank goodness!) Well if you need any advice on breastfeeding, you can call me. If you need any advice on weening off diapers or the boob, you’ll have to call someone else! LOL
