I wish I could do all the decorating for one room in a weekend and have a single blog post on the BIG REVEAL when I’m done. After 3 months of living in our new home, I realized that that’s not going to happen. Furniture plus all the accessories needed to fill just one room gets expensive. It takes time to acquire all the stuff that makes a house a home, and it doesn’t happen in one episode like it so conveniently does on HGTV. So I’ll just post piece by piece as it all starts coming together. Here’s the latest:
The newest addition to our master bedroom: Modern Crystal Chandelier!
I actually bought this chandelier before we bought our home. I think the dangling crystals and candlestick lights make it a classic beauty, but the chrome finish and barrel shade give it a modern edge. It’s made by Crystorama and retails for $895 (on Amazon, it’s on sale for $495). I got it at the Sample Store at my work for a whopping $35! I found it in a state of despair with a broken shade, which is why I got it for such a good deal. I figured it was nothing a little super glue could fix. Actually, we tried super glue and soldering, but that did no good. My mom ended up just twisting the solder wire to attach the shade back to it’s frame (genius!) and it was good as new. Here’s what it really looks like without the crazy Instragram filters:
This chandelier made a HUGE difference in our super-sized master bedroom. We have our bed on the far end of the room and turned the other half of the space into a sitting area. This piece kind of ties the two sides together. OK so I’m no designer, so excuse my poor designer-wannabe lingo. Designers tend to use words like “space” instead of “room” and “piece” instead of what it actually is like “chair” or “light.” Anyways, here’s a picture I drew using the Paper 53 app on my iPad that illustrates what I’m trying to say, and what I hope the room will look like eventually:
Love everything and how it’s coming together! I was eyeing chandeliers very similar, I just LOVE how they look! Good job lady! 😉
Thanks, Miss Fiss! You’ll have to get a little chandelier for baby Skyla’s nursery 🙂
