Making Faces! Book Review and Giveaway

My kiddos have been super spoiled since we moved here with all the beaches and outdoor activities. Florida is like a giant playground for kids! But sometimes we stay home because I get lazy or it rains. And when it rains, I get lazy. I’m always looking for indoor activities that allow the kids to […]

Why I chose to have my daughter wear a uniform in a public school

Arielle will be starting the first grade at her new school next week.  (Woah! How did that happen already?!)  She will be attending the public school that’s just down the block. I read that there is an optional uniform policy for their students and I thought that was bizarre. I thought uniforms were only for private […]

Close Enough to Kiss

I’ve had this post brewing in my mind for a few months now. If you see me, I’m wearing it. If you converse with me, I’m talking about it. It’s the first thing I do when I get home from work and what I look forward to the most on weekends. A hobby, you might […]

Is This Real Life or Vacation?

We’ve been in Florida for almost a month now and folks back home were asking me how life in Florida is so far. I started my new job and they certainly did not hold back from putting me to work. It’s more projects and longer hours than my old job. (It’s not a bad thing, […]

Spelunking at Ruby Falls

Spelunking. That word should be added to the list of most hated words along with “moist,” “phlegm,” and “panties.” It sounds like something contagious or dirty, but really all it means is “cave exploring.” As in: We did a ton of spelunking in Chattanooga, TN at Ruby Falls Cave. Ruby Falls is the largest underground […]

Paw Patrol Birthday Party

Last weekend, we hosted a joint birthday party for Arielle and Zavier, where Arielle wanted a Sofia the First birthday and big boy Zavier wanted a Paw Patrol birthday party. I was able to pull off both themes in one party by setting up separate sweet tables with decorations and custom labels. You can check […]

Spring Break Birthday Extravaganza

This past week was Arielle’s sixth birthday and Zavier’s fourth birthday, which just so happened to fall during Spring Break. They were born 1 year and 364 days apart so they have to celebrate together. We basically spent the week celebrating: Five cakes, two birthday outings, a special visit from the best aunt ever (my […]

Zavier James 4.0

Happy birthday, Zavier! My sweet boy turned four on Monday. Or as he would say, “Foi!” and proudly hold his four little fingers in the air. “My a big boy! A-yell call me wittle, but my ish BIG!” (Translation: I’m a big boy! Arielle calls me little, but I am BIG!) He still talks funny, […]

Beach Bums and Mall Rats

What are you supposed to do when you’re on maternity leave with two kids and a newborn at your parents’ house in Florida in the middle of January?  Go to the beach or the mall every day, of course!  We’re officially beach bums and mall rats.  It’s ridiculous.  But it’s awesome!!!

The Return to My Happy Place

This is the best maternity leave ever.  My mom designed this master plan where she flew to Chicago help me with the babies through the holidays, then we all flew to Florida so we could stay with my parents for the month of January.  So while my friends and family in Chiberia are freezing in sub-zero temps, the kids […]
