Behind the Scenes at Sears Video Shoot

Featured Images (7)I realize that I don’t really talk about my work on my blog. I mention here and there that I work full-time as a Project Manager, but don’t get into the specifics. Same thing goes for my blog when I’m at work. I might mention to people at work that I have a blog, but again – no specifics. One time, people at my work found out that I blogged aobut my Personal Stylist experience and my head exploded when my work life and blog life collided. Neither are inappropriate or conflicting of eachother, but I just like to keep those two things very. separate.

Although, they ended up using a photo from my Personal Stylist blog post as part of their marketing collateral:

Recently, I got to play a small role in a video as a store associate helping out a customer. The video was for an internal meeting and it’s not available to share with the public, but I swear it happened:

At work today, filming videos! I'm "The Talent" LOL So fun! #sears #himom #andtheoscargoesto

And then on Wednesday, I was one of the models for a video that will go online on sears.com. (Did I mention that I worked there? Sears Corporate Headquarters, that is.) The video was for “How to Wear a Dress” for specific body types and how to accessorize for the day and night. This was so much fun that I just had to share part of my work on my blog! Here are some behind-the-scenes pics:

This is what happens when you work just down the hall from the people who produce these videos. I was so happy they asked me to come along – definitely a fun experience compared to a day in the office! I will be sure to post an update when the video is up on sears.com!

  1. That is so super fun and neat! What a great benefit to them discovering your piece of the internets. πŸ™‚ I’d imagine that’s super fun to shoot, I don’t have any clue where my company films its nonsense but it could use a revamp of style and flair. Lol. You looked great! Have a great Memorial Day Weekend Gracielle! -Iva

  2. You’re a star! πŸ™‚ And that’s soooo cool!!! I’m sure it was fun shooting that video. Like you, I want to keep my work life and blog life separate but there are very rare times when I do mention something about my work on my blog. I don’t often talk about my blog when at work too and when I do, it’s only to my closest friends. It’s nice to sometimes incorporate the two for a fun shoot like that!

    • It was a lot of fun shooting the video, but also a lot of waiting around. I’m anxious ot see how it turned out! Only a few people at work know that I blog…and even fewer care to read it! Haha!

  3. That is so cool and you make a beautiful model! I am the same way and keep things pretty separate. I have never mentioned (specifically) where I work on my blog either. I am glad I am not alone in this. Very cool that you work at Sears too! They have been around a long time and my parents met there when my mom worked there. πŸ™‚

    • That’s so cool that your parents met there! I swear, Sears is embedded deep in the American culture…so many people have fond memories of Sears. I’m actually required by our social media policy to disclose that I work for Sears anytime I talk about their products. So much for keeping it separate!

  4. You are just so gorgeous! I love this behind-the-scenes stuff. I don’t have a job outside of the photography and blog to write about, but this is exciting! And I love knowing it’s Sears. So awesome!

  6. Wow Sears huh? Who knew! I just joined the Windy City Blogger Collective(which I recommend!) and I went to a free event this past week. I told a fellow co-worker and she asked how I found out about the event and I let her know oh it was this blogging group-she then asked if I blogged and I didn’t know what to say-I want to keep my blog and work seperate too because it just feels awkward telling coworkers about it lol. I used to blog for the Local Tourist so when she asked me what is my blog called I just blurted that one out, even though it’s been a couple years since I contributed to them lol. Ah maybe one day I won’t be embarassed to tell them, but really, I rather they don’t know lol.

    • You’ve recommended Windy City Blogger Collective a few times…and I actually met Kit, one of the founders, at the local BlogHer meet up! She was so nice πŸ™‚ I will be moving away from the Chicago area very soon, so no more Windy City for me! I will be starting a new job in sunny Florida and I plan on keeping my blog a secret there, too. LOL
