Sofia the First Birthday Party

We celebrated Arielle’s 6th birthday last week along with her brother’s 4th birthday, and it just so happened to be Spring Break as well! You can read all about their Spring Break birthday extravaganza here. Arielle wanted a Sofia the First birthday party and Zavier wanted a Paw Patrol birthday, and I was able to pull off both themes in one party by setting up separate sweet tables with decorations and custom labels. Here’s how the Sofia the First sweet table turned out:

Sofia the First Birthday

This is the only area of the house that had the Sofia the First decorations, so I wanted to make sure it had big impact. I started by hanging a chandelier from the ceiling that I got from a garage sale for $5 using command strips, then hung Sofia the First decorations and added balloons around it:

The centerpiece of the sweet table was the Sofia the First birthday cake. I had a local bakery make the cake and worked with them on the design – it had to have the Sofia the First dress pattern, a tiara, and the number 6 for the birthday girl! It was just as delicious on the inside as it was gorgeous on the outside:

I bought cupcakes, cookies, and chocolates from the store (saved a ton of time!), but gave it a customized look by creating Sofia the First food labels using Canva. Then I printed them out on 5×7 cardstock paper and folded them in half.

You can use my design templates and edit them in Canva. It’s free, click here It should be pretty easy to figure out how to modify the labels, then you can save it as an image and print them out. Seriously, you’re welcome. I love Canva!

I also used Canva to create custom favor bag toppers for sandwich bags. I printed these out on 5×7 cardstock paper, folded them in half, and stapled them onto the sandwich bags.

  1. This is SO SWEET! I started watching Sofia the First with a little girl I used to babysit and it was one of the few cartoons on TV that didn’t make me cringe. Love how you pulled off such perfect decorations in such a small space!

    • It’s a really cute show! Thank you, this is the only part of the house that I decorated. So it looks like Sofia the First exploded all over that part of my living room! LOL

  2. Oh what a cute party theme! I loved how you decorated the bags and Arielle looks so happy. Great job on getting both parties in too. I have not tried Canva yet but am going to have to check it out.

    • I was pretty surprised that Arielle wanted Sofia the First because she doesn’t even watch it regularly. But I think her princess days are numbered so I was happy to oblige.

  4. This is amazing Gracielle! I love your DIYs! I love Canva too. We’re celebrating Reiko’s 4th next Sunday and I’m still planning everything out.

The princess cake is so nice! It’s gonna be hard to eat such a beautiful cake. LOL. Sometimes I just wanna keep it around for decoration. Hehehe
