I noticed that my Facebook started to look like the Sunday Funnies section of the good ol’ newspaper as comic strips started appearing on my news feed. I took a closer look and noticed that they were comic strips of my friends who were using the new Bitstrip app. It allows create comic strips starring you and your Facebook friends. How clever!
First, you start off by creating your own avatar (just like your own Mii from Nintendo Wii). I had so much fun creating myself and to my surprise they had my “Don’t you know I will cut you?!” face readily available:
Then, you can choose a comic template and if you are feeling witty, you can add your own dialogue bubbles. I just created a few about my favorite things: coffee, cheeseburgers, Forrest Gump, and…umm….world domination. Ha!
I love that it’s easy to use and share with friends. Even though some of the templates aren’t relevant for a status update, I still get a chuckle or two browsing along the way. My only tiny gripe is that I don’t think the servers can handle the popularity of the app, so sometimes the images don’t load right away. Or, worse – this morning the app was down completely. And one small request to the Bitstrip gods: can I make avatars of my kiddos and have comic strips starring my family? That would be great, thanks!

I’ve been seeing this comics all over my Facebook feed lately too and downloaded it recently. I agree that the servers can’t handle the popularity… it froze up on me a couple times already.
