Friday Faves: Vine

I’m loving Vine right now.  It’s a mobile app that allows you to record short 6 second videos that loop and you can easily share with your friends.

Just when you thought you needed yet another social media network to stay on top of besides Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, your blog, blah, blah, blah…

No, wait! Hear me out – this one is worth a try and it’s easy to use:  You put your finger on the screen to record, then take your finger off the screen to stop recording.  Then, add a comment and publish.  Done.

I think the continuous loop on the video adds an element of quirkiness.  I’m sure there will be lots of people who get creative with the loop and make remarkable short films with it.  But for me, I plan on using it to capture those quick little moments from A&Z that cannot be captured with a still photo.

Like Arielle singing the opening song from the Lion King (you might have to un-mute to hear her singing):

Or Zavier enjoying the breeze, eyes closed and all, aboard an architectural boat tour along the Chicago River on a warm Spring afternoon:

Or Arielle showing off her tap dance recital costume:

Give it a try and let me know what you think!  Leave a comment and let me know your Vine account so I can follow you!
