Arielle’s Little Girl Room: Part 1

For Arielle’s room, I wanted to go for a pink and grey color scheme:

We haven’t started painting yet, but we started to collect accessories and furniture from thrift stores and the Sample Store.  I think the key to collecting things along the way is to keep in mind the overall theme you’re trying to achieve; as opposed to buying random things here and there.  That will prevent impulse purchases from happening, and then ending up with items that don’t even go with the overall look of the room.  Having that said, here’s a link to my inspiration board on Pinterest: Arielle’s Room Pinboard

Here’s some of the accessories that we got so far: rug, dresser, and nightlight.

Rug.

I knew I wanted some kind of pattern – damask, moroccan, or zebra.  Check out the inspiration photos on the left.  The hot pink damask rug on the right was a what I got!  This was a Sample Store find for $12.

Dresser.

For the dresser, I wanted something vintage and white (see inspiration photos on the right).  Then, Jeff found this scuffed up dresser that had potential at the thrift store for $7:

Night light.

This was just a super cute light that I found at Home Goods for $12.  Now that Arielle is sleeping in her own room, she needed a night-light because she was using her fluorescent closet light for bedtime.  They had butterfly, crown, or heart to choose from and Arielle picked the heart:

That’s all for now.  Next up for Arielle’s room: paint, curtains, bedding, and her little kitchen.  Stay tuned!
